Hands down, my worst parenting moment has to be those few moments in our day when we are getting in and out of the car.
In the mornings, I’ve done my best to get the kids up, get them dressed, get everything we need for the day…
When we get to my work/the kids’ daycare, I’m ready to get everyone where they need to go so we can all get our day started…
In the afternoons, I’m just ready to get home and get in the house after a long day of work…
And what do the kids want to do?
Explore the car!! There are buttons to push. Tons of room to walk around in the van. Seats to crawl over. Lots of fun to be had! Apparently!
If my neighbors heard me barking at my kids to get in and get buckled up, they would probably think I’m the worst! I find myself looking over my shoulder at all my neighbors’ homes checking to see if anyone is outside hearing things. So far, I think I’m in the clear. ๐
This really isn’t an issue with my 8-year-old. Just my 3-year-old twins. So I’m not throwing out hope that we’ll be able to get in the car peacefully one day. ๐
Until then, I’m praying for patient, non-judgmental, kind neighbors! ๐
