Life is hard, isn’t it? For all of us.  There is so much to be frustrated about. So much that is wrong, confusing, messed up, twisted, etc.  And it’s easy to get stuck focusing on the bad.

But I believe there is far more good in the world than bad. There are so many wonderful things that we can celebrate each day! Small and large.

Some days, it’s harder to find things to celebrate. And then there days like today. Or really the past few days for me.

Over the last few days, I’ve had front row seats to watching around 35 women from our church come together to prepare a meal for a memorial service. My heart leapt every time I got an email from yet another woman happy to help. And my heart was full and overflowing all day today as women came, the food was brought,

the tables were set,

drinks were served, the food was replenished,

and everything was cleaned up!

If that’s not beauty and something to celebrate, I don’t know what is!  It’s so awesome when we come together and serve!

God’s people make me proud! Of course, there’s always something more that we could be doing, but I think we don’t adequately take the time to recognize everything that we are already doing and celebrate. We do so much that we don’t give ourselves credit for.  And all I know is that when I find something to celebrate (small or large), I want to do more of that.

May we choose to celebrate more often!  May we encourage others in the good that they are already doing.
